Imagine a world where everyone has access to the Bible in their own language.
There are over 7,300 different languages in the world and only 10% of these languages have a full Bible! There are still over 3000 languages without one word of scripture!
At TWFTW we believe that the Bible is the most important work of literature in the world and we want to see everyone have access to it. We are passionate about the Bible because it is "able to make people wise for salvation through faith in Jesus Christ" (2 Tim 3:15), transforms lives, and brings comfort.
The Word for the World UK is affiliated with TWFTW International. We are a charity registered in England & Wales (charity number 1098498) and we provide logistical, prayer and financial support for TWFTW's translation and literacy projects around the world.
Our goal is to be instrumental in translating the Bible into 1000 languages by 2050. Please explore this site to find out how we plan to achieve this and please join us in our mission.
THE NEED
Approximately 2,500 language communities already have some or all of the Bible available to them. However, over 3,000 language communities do not. We - and other Bible translators - are working around the world to change this.
VISION & MISSION
The Vision: The glory of God through transformed lives by the power of His Word in everyone's heart language.
The Mission: To empower indigenous persons and organisations for Bible translation.
