For the first time in our history in the work in Asia, we now have our own home-grown Bible translation consultants. Through all aspects of the task at hand we endeavour to work ourselves out of a job. This has been true to even in the most technical aspects of the work of Bible translation. Experienced consultants have been training and mentoring nationals whose job it is to guide translators in ensuring that translations are an accurate rendering of the Greek and Hebrew texts. One international and four national consultants were recently recognized at an event where the baton was handed over to them.
This is the last step in the process of releasing the work to nationals. The work in South Asia is set up to function nationally and it is flourishing!
