During the last two weeks of November 2017 Barry and Manie conducted a training event for prospective Bible Translation Consultants in SE Asia. Twenty students mostly with MTh or MDiv degrees and two with PhDs were present.
They were taught the academic aspects and principles of consultant checking, and several of them will be mentored practically as Consultants in Training (CITs) over the next year or two to become fully independant and recognised consultants. There is a growing demand for consultants with our growing number of Bible translation projects.
