International Faculty 
Véroni Krüger, D. Litt.
International President and Postgraduate Progamme Director

 Véroni Krüger is passionate about empowering indigenous individuals and organisations for Bible translation, and to assume leadership in all aspects of mission, including Bible translation. 

 

Véroni studied for his doctorate in Greek and Linguistics with Johannes P. Louw at the University of Pretoria, South Africa, graduating in 1982.   He studied Missiology under the guidance of David Bosch at the University of South Africa, for which he was awarded a BTh (Hons). 

 

Véroni founded TWFTW in 1981, and has been involved in training Bible translators and Bible translation consultants ever since. He and his wife Martie are permanent residents of the USA, but spend much time in the Western Cape, South Africa, from where they travel extensively for the work of Bible translation.

  

Dr. Regine Koroma
International Director of Training and Undergraduate Programme Director

Regine is passionate about training Bible translators and has been involved in this field since 1983, first in Europe and since 2005 in Africa and Asia. She has served as TWFTW's International Director of Training since 2008.

Regine studied Linguistics, African Studies and Cultural Anthropology in Cologne, Germany, and was awarded a PhD in 1994. She recently completed a MA in Contemporary Mission Studies at All Nations Christian College in the United Kingdom.

She lives in London and has two adult children.

Dr. Manie van den Heever
International Translations Director and Bible Translation Consultant

Manie is enthusiastic about Bible translation and enjoys sharing his knowledge and experience with Bible translators from different cultures and countries. He has been involved in Bible translation since 2002, when he started working with the Bible Society of South Africa. In 2008, he joined TWFTW, where he serves as International Director of Translation.


Manie studied African, Modern European and Ancient languages, Biblical Studies, and Theology at undergraduate level. After obtaining an MA in Applied Language Studies, he focused on biblical languages and was awarded a BTh Honours (Biblical Languages) from Potchesfstroom University in 2002 and a PhD (Biblical Hebrew) from Stellenbosch University in 2013.


Manie lives in South Africa with his wife and six children. They are planning to relocate to Ethiopia during 2015.

  

Alina Krajewska, M.A.
Bible Translation Consultant

Alina earned an MA in  Polish Philology after studying Literature, Linguistics and Theory of Interpretation at Jagiellonian University in Cracow, Poland in 1993. She then enrolled in a doctoral programme in Translation Studies there and undertook further studies at the Vrije University in Amsterdam, The Hebrew University and Home for Bible Translators in Jerusalem and SIL in the United Kingdom.  Her special interest is Biblical literature and literary translation of the Bible.


She serves as Bible Translation Consultant, lecturer and course developer and is involved in a Romani project in Poland. 


Alina is based in the historical city of Cracow. She has published two books of translated poetry, writes lyrics and translates Jewish and gospel songs.



  

Barry Funnell, M.A.
Director United Kingdom and Bible Translation Consultant

Dr Barry Funnell trained as a dentist but changed his career to Bible Translation in 1991. He has a 3 year Licentiate in Christian ministries specialising in Bible Translation at Africa School of Missions in South Africa and obtained a MA in Sociolinguistcs from the University of South Africa (UNISA). 


Barry is a Bible translation consultant and has worked with 40 languages in Africa and SE Asia.  He is passionate about the Bible and producing quality translations  He has been  substantially involved in the completion of the Sena Bible (Malawi) which was published in 2006 and  started translation projects in 10 Tanzanian languages. The New Testament is due to be published  in  these 10 languages in 2015.  


Barry lives in Bedford, UK and  has been the Director of TWFTW UK since 2009.   He is married to Julia and has three children; Lisa, Tim and Daniel.

  

Pierre van Vuuren, B.Sc. 
Director Slovakia

Pierre, Lisa, Elise and Samuel make their home in Sol, Slovakia. Pierre has been a missionary in Slovakia since 1997, where is he is involved in church planting among the Roma. He has been TWFTW's Bible translation coordinator and director for Slovakia since 2004. He leads a team that has published the New Testament in Eastern Slovak Romany in 2014.

Pierre holds a B.Sc. degree and a Higher Education Diploma from the Free State University as well as a three year Licentiate in Christian ministries from Africa School of Missions. He also studied Biblical Hebrew and Greek and has been serving as lecturer for TWFTW in Biblical Exegesis, The Principles of Bible Translation and Cultural Anthropology since 2009. Pierre is married and has two children. In his free time he loves to read on Creation Science.

Dr. Davies Malembeka
Guest lecturer

Davies is a pastor, strategist, leadership consultant, and a training solutionist. He is the founder of Global Dominion Ministries Zambia and USA, and the co-founder of Yasanta Consultancy. Through these organisations he facilitates leadership development and strategic planning.


Davies' passion is to transform followers into leaders through forward and strategic thinking.  Among others, Davies has undergone Leadership Coaching training with Legacy Leadership Institute, USA.  He also holds a doctorate degree in divinity from Miracle Institute, USA.

 

Davies is married to Chomba and together they have a beautiful daughter Yasanta Chibwe Malembeka.

  

Eshinee Veith, M.A.
Guest Lecturer 

Eshinee is the project coordinator and exegete for the Wayeyi Bible translation project in Maun, Botswana.  She is currently working for the Bible Society in Botswana in partnership with Lutheran Bible Translators.

 

Eshinee obtained a BA in Linguistics from Trinity Western University in 2001 and an MA in Applied Linguistics from the Graduate Institute of Applied Linguistics in 2010.  She has been a guest lecturer at translator trainings in Zambia with TWFTW since 2012.


She and her husband Robert (ethnomusicologist and vernacular media specialist) have been living and working in Botswana since 2007.

Jonathan East,  B.Th.
Project Coordinator North East

Jonathan has been working as a coordinator for translation projects in conjunction with TWFTW since 2011.  He has a heart for people groups who have not yet had an opportunity to hear the gospel.  He believes that Bible translation is one of the most effective means of reaching these groups as he carries out his calling in East Asia. 


Jonathan was awarded a Bachelor in Theology by the South African Theological Seminary  and a Postgraduate Diploma in Peace Studies by the Martin Luther Christian University in Shillong.
